weekly olive: fourteen

Today was Noah's school Thanksgiving party.  I decided to dress little Olive up in her blue jean skirt for the special occasion.  I am having way more fun dressing her up than I ever thought I would.  Too many cute possibilities.  Jonathan is going to kill me with how much money I am going to end up spending on her wardrobe.

Olive is starting to grab at more things with her hands and even trying to grab at her feet a little bit. She has started taking an interest in toys.   She likes to grab at things shake them a little and toss them away.  I guess she's a little bored with them?  Noah NEVER took interest in little toys.  He always wanted to have you focusing on him 100% and always wanted what YOU have... not his baby stuff.  He is still that way.  Most of his toys are repurposed things from around the house because toys are just not cool enough for him.  Anyways, Olive taking an interest in things is exciting to us! Something different!

Olive is still sleeping great.  THANK GOODNESS.  She wakes up every once in a while but mostly she sleeps from 11-7:30am and then she sleeps a little while longer.  I am NOT complaining about her sleep habits!

We jumped full time into cloth diapers, but it hasn't been as flawless as I had hoped it would be.  We have had quite a few "messes" do to the fact that she doesn't have enough body budge to get a good diaper fit.  I really don't want to go get different cloth diaper sizes, so I guess we will be working on fattening her up and washing lots of messy things in the mean time.

Little Miss Olive is just too sweet.  It's been 14 weeks and we don't even remember what life was like without her!

nugget: fourteen weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 14 weeks 4 days

Size of Baby: size of a lemon

Total Weight Gain: not sure. We do't have a scale at the house so could be the same as last week or I could have gained 5lbs.

Maternity Clothes: nope. Although I do feel like wearing pants is starting to get really annoying but that could be from the recent hot flashes.

Gender: you'll know soon enough.

Movement: I've been feeling light sways and there is definitely a bulgier spot on my left side where the baby tends to like to hang out.

Sleep: Sleep like a log but starting to wake up really early for bathroom breaks. Naptime is still my friend. I can at least fold clothes and snooze a bit on the couch while Noah naps.

What I Miss: definitely being active. Find myself worried about throwing my back out a lot so I'm trying to not do crazy things like I would normally do. It's hard though because I've always been active while pregnant.

Cravings: still lots of veggies. I've been able to hold in other things this week as well which has been awesome. I even had pork for dinner for the first time in months. Didn't eat much, but hey it's a start!

Best Moment this Week: telling family we are expecting. Everyone was super shocked but they are very excited. I'm starting to feel more and more comfortable talking about the baby.

Blood Pressure: pretty good right now. Praying it continues.

Bump watch... Not a whole lot going on that wasn't already there. The bruises are probably more eye catching. Since the photo I have an even worse one that looks really nasty. Hopefully it will mend itself quickly!

weekly Noah: fourteen

Sometime in between week thirteen and fourteen this kid has become quite the charmer.  He is seeking out the attention of people other than mommy and daddy.  He knows he's cute. WE HAVE CREATED A MONSTER!  Those BIG blue eyes and that sweet little grin just seems to get everyone all warm and fuzzy.  And because this kid knows how cute he is... any attention that is not focused on him is going to make him angry!

Noah has been doing much better when it comes to sleeping in his own bed.  He might wake up several times to eat at night, but he will at least go back into his bed and to sleep happily.  His feeding times are still pretty close together.  I would say still every 2.5-3 hours and then one four hour stretch at night.

Recently he has started grabbing onto things (noses, fingers, hair, toys) and holding on for dear life.  He has also mastered getting every single finger in his mouth simultaneously or even one-by-one and the poor thing is drooling and sucking up a storm.  I can't imagine what it will be like when he is actually cutting a tooth!

There are so many new and exciting things that this little bugger does every day that sometimes its hard to remember individually, but I will try and remember and list big ones as they happen.

Here are some fun photos from this past week... Enjoy!
