weekly olive: thirty-three

Busy, busy Miss Olive doesn't even have time for pictures these days.  She would much rather be crawling through the grass, getting stuck under furniture or trying to stand by crawling up my pant leg.

Her favorite thing to do is hide behind Daddy's brown leather chair and giggle until someone comes to find her.  A close second is following Noah around and laughing a literally everything he is doing. Big brother is the absolute best.  He loves her too, but he can also be pretty rough on her.

Solids are going well.  She seems to like blueberries, watermelon, avocado and butternut squash so far.  Actually, come to think of it.  She has liked everything she has tried, although she gets annoyed with food and wants to do something different after a bit.

I can't believe how much this little girl is changing every week.  I wish time would slow down... she is just such a sweet and lovely baby.

monthly noah: thirty-three

Another month as come and gone.  Noah is seeming so so so big these days.  I look at his hands and his feet and his eyes and fail to see my baby.  I just see... BOY.  WAH!

I love how he is growing and doing so well, but seriously... wish time would just slow down.

Noah is having so much fun at school these days.  There is always something cool going on and he is learning so so much.  He can recognize several of his written numbers and is working hard on recognizing his letters.  His vocabulary is growing faster than I can even imagine.  Yesterday I asked him some yes or no question and instead of responding yes he said..."in deed".  My mouth dropped. Where do kids these days get this stuff?  He loves books and reading time so much.  He can sit for hours with us reading him books and at bedtime we have to pry the books out of his hands or else he will look at them forever.

His imagination is blossoming.  Up until now he has always been a very literal child, but recently he has started having more imaginative play.  Must be from hanging around so many fun kids.

Every day is an adventure.  I love that about this age... going to the grocery store is just as exciting as going to the zoo.  He is just SO happy to get to do things.

I love this boy.   I love who he is and who he is becoming.  So thankful to be his mama.

nugget: thirty-three weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 33 weeks!

Size of Baby: about the size of a squash

Total Weight Gain: 22 and really really feeling it.

Maternity Clothes: yesssss...

Gender: GIRLIE

Movement: I have no idea what she is doing in there. My stomach is almost always lopsided and I can't even tell what part is where, I just feel lots of hard body parts pressed up against my skin. WEIRD.

Sleep: can't get enough

What I Miss: feeling less overheated... I sweat over EVERYTHING. Poor Jonathan and our AC are frozen. Noah is a hot pocket and loves the AC... So at least I'm not enjoying the cool air by myself.

Cravings: nothing really...I just eat.

Best Moment this Week: Getting some work done in the nursery. I will admit I have been slacking, but I am hoping to just wash some items and sew a few other items and just be done with it. She won't know... and there will be less torn up by big brother. ha.

Blood Pressure: 120s/70s thank God!

I have been having weird dreams about my water randomly breaking. I don't even know why since that hasn't ever happened to me. Maybe my subconscious is really hoping for a vbac. My brain realizes that it's 75% not going to happen just based on my own personal statistics, but would I like to have a traditional and natural birth? Absolutely. Not because I think it would make me feel more like a woman or better about myself, but because it might be more of a healing type birth and definitely have an easier recovery than having my THIRD C-SECTION. More than any birth ideal, I would certainly rather see my baby girl safely in my arms and at a healthy gestation. It's my hope and my prayer... but I can't help what my brain thinks up when I close my eyes.

weekly wonder: thirty-three

I have been itching to take Noah to the Dallas Zoo since he was born, but we have always been super rushed during our visits or Noah was too young or it just hasn't worked out weather-wise.  Well...I decided that since Noah has been so interested in animals lately that this was the time to visit and that I was just going to make it happen.

So my mom took off work on Monday and drove Jonathan, Noah and I to the zoo.  Oh my it was so much fun! Crazy thing about the Dallas Zoo is that there was so much that was the same from when I was little.  It was very much a deja vu experience.  I was also surprised at how much the zoo had updated and how personable the staff and zookeepers were.  We actually got to talk to the zookeepers about various animals at the different exhibits and there were areas where you could feed some of the different animals.  It was fantastic!  And of course since it wasn't very crowded, Noah was able to see the animals much easier and closer than if we had been at another more popular zoo (ahem San Diego).

Since it was still pretty hot outside and Noah was tired and hungry, we only stayed for a few hours, but it was definitely a trip worth making and I can't wait to go again!
