weekly wonder: twenty-four

We've all been under the weather this week... Except for Noah oddly enough. Which means the kid is stir crazy and adventuresome and we're all too sick to keep up.

Olive is not sure whether she wants to play or nap and I just want to be left alone all together. Jonathan doesn't get a choice and has to work from home. We gotta hunker down and kick this before Noah's big birthday bash.

Fingers crossed we get there.

This week we took a trip to Conejo Community Park with our friends the Shulls.  They moved a year and a half ago to the East coast but have most recently moved back to Southern California.  We are so excited to have them back!   Anyways, we spent the afternoon catching up at the park while the kids ran around reconnecting as well.  It was so lovely.

Tis the season!

We started this week off with cookie decorating with our LA family.  It was so much fun to see the kids smearing icing all over and chomping on cookies.  There was not one single person who did not suffer from a sugar coma by the end.

Weekly wonder: eleven

Next stop on our European adventure was the Netherlands.  My new favorite place in all the world is Holland.  I absolutely loved it and we were only there for a few days.  Simply amazing.  So clean, so calm, so historic and captivating.  Amsterdam was neat, but I just loved the small town of Volendam where we were staying.

I love traveling. A lot. But since having kids it has been really difficult to do. It's expensive and there are so many logistics. We travel pretty frequently to Texas to visit family and have taken small trips that we could drive to, but have left over seas travel alone. Well a few months back Jonathan expressed an interest in traveling to Brussels, Belgium(and a few other places) for a work thing and asked if I would want to go too. DUH!!! I totally did, but there were these two little people named Olive and Noah that were holding me back. He said we could bring them... I said "Deal!". Fast forward to the end of October. Plans (upon plans upon plans upon plans) had been made. Jonathan's parents were going to meet up with us on this trip and lend a hand in our travels. Lodging and transportation were a go and off to Brussels we went!

Here are our photos from the Pumpkin patch with our LA family.  It is always so much fun to spend time with them and now that we all have kids of our own our time together is very busy!
