happy nine weeks lil cutie-pa-tootie!
Olive was such a big girl this week. She went on her first flight ever and got to meet most of her Texas family for the first time. She was a pro. She went to her Nannie and Doodad's barn, Mimi and Papa's House, the State Fair of Texas, North Park and Dim Sum. All in just 6 days. We had so much fun introducing her to as many people as we could.
While we were on our travels, Olive took her first successful bottle feedings while being babysat by her grandparents. Jonathan and I were so lucky to get to have some adult time... we hardly ever leave Noah and those two times were our first times to leave Olive. I was a nervous wreck, but honestly she couldn't have been in better hands!
Olive is still a tiny little thing. I think she's probably around 10lbs and still fits into her newborn clothes. All of her 0-3 months clothing just falls right off of her, so I guess we will have to wait a bit longer to update her wardrobe. We did move her to size one diapers and I am hoping that her little legs will plump up enough so that I can put her into some cloth diapers soon.
Olive must be starting to see things a little more clearly now because she is grabbing at so much these days. My hair, my necklaces, my ears, her hands, her pacifier. She is great at staring and tracking people and objects.
She has great head and neck control and loves to stand upright on her little feet (just like big bro did). She doesn't mind tummy time and can teeter from side to side but doesn't roll just yet. She can scoot around the floor on her belly though.
I'm not quite sure what's going on with her hair. It's pretty thick and seems like it's growing longer and the color is light brown with blonde roots. Several people have commented that her hair looks reddish. I don't really see much red, but it wouldn't surprise me if she did have some in there since her paternal grandmother and uncle have red hair! He hair color mainly reminds me of Noah's... started out dark but then grew in blonde. Noah lost all of his hair before it came in lighter and I wonder if she will do the same? I am taking advantage of her luscious locks and using as many hair accessories as possible.
I definitely didn't think I would love all the frilly things that come from being a girl mom... I always just loved the simplicity of being a boy mom. So blessed to be experiencing all that comes with this little lady!

I LOVE these pictures! Wish we could have gotten up there...too bad we were " Stuck" at the coast! Next time!!
