weekly wonder: forty-two
Over the last few weeks, we have been all over the place and one of those places was Naples, Florida (claiming this as our weekly wonder!!)! Last Christmas, my parents offered to take my siblings, signifiant others and grand children on a vacation during the summer. Well, my sister ended up delivering Clara earlier than expected and then poor little thing had to have a few surgeries and get her health back in order before we could partake in the extended family adventure. It just to happened to work out that our vacation coincided with Thanksgiving and my mom's birthday. So the plan was to vacay in Florida for my mom's birthday and then travel back to Texas and spend Thanksgiving with the McCaffrey side of the family. Great plan, right?!?
We ended up having a really rough start to the trip and missed our flights (totally NOT our fault) out to Florida, which meant we had to find a last minute flight on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Thankfully a booking agent took pity on us and figured something out. We spent more than 12 hours in travel/ wait time, but really it was worth it!
A family friend offered for our entire family to stay at their place while they vacationed in Dallas. So we were staying at a house located very closely to the beach and other great locations. We spent the week walking and biking everywhere.
Noah had so much fun following around his big cousin, Liam and watching over his little cousin, Clara. He loved getting attention from all the family members. Jonathan enjoyed taking over the kitchen and grill at any chance he could get. I enjoyed the beach and bonding with my family. It was amazing and I am so thankful that this vacation worked out.
