San Diego Promise Walk 2013

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to attend the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in San Diego.  Although the walk itself was emotional, we had our good friends Rachel and Will along for moral support, which made the event much more fun.

The walk took place at Crown Point Park, which I couldn't imagine a better location for such an event. The park was basically on a grass knoll right along side Mission Bay.  Being near the water can be so uplifting and reflective all at the same time.  It probably helped even more having Noah with us since he has been such a soother for my broken heart.  Even with the water, friends and our trusty little Noah, it is still very difficult to look out into a crowd and know that all of these people have been affected by preeclampsia.  It is even harder to know that many of the people lost someone to such a terrible disease.

Although, the event was a bit smaller than other charities, like the March of Dimes Walk for Babies(which I also support) or Susan G Komen Walk, the Promise Walk San Diego chapter still managed to raise $12K for the Preeclampsia Foundation and almost $700 of that was from my little group alone! These donations go to furthering the research on Preeclampsia and hopefully developing more treatments and eventually a cure.  Thank you so much for all of those who contributed.  You have no idea how much your support means to our family.
