weekly noah: twenty-eight

Noah is totally crawling now.  Not incredibly fast, but fast enough to put him down and 20 seconds later have no idea where he is anymore.  He has been chasing bouncy balls down the hallway and now we have to close ALL the doors in the apartment so that we can keep a better eye on him.

Right now it's all about how far can he get and what can he put in his mouth.  His toes, my toes, fingers, shirts, hair, Gus, toys, whatever... it's there... in his mouth!

And his two little bottom teeth have managed to poke their way out this week, which has totally put a cramp in Noah's sleeping at night.  Waking us up with shrill screams and crawling around in his crib until someone picks him and and puts him back to sleep.

Self-soothing is definitely NOT happening right now.  It is all about Mommy and Daddy fixing it.  He doesn't want to deal with anything, so it's all up to us.

Noah is still exclusively nursing.  We are letting him try anything he can get his grubby hands on and put into his mouth, but whether or not he will actually take any in is the issue.  He doesn't mind taking tastes, but he is just too busy to eat food right now.  He has been sitting with us in his high chair though while we eat so that we can get him used to eating at a table.  He really enjoys watching us scramble to the floor to pick up his toys or even occasionally he will open his mouth and chew like he is interested in trying what we are having.  Sometimes we give him some to try, but most of that ends up on the floor along side the toys.

As always, I am just amazed at how fast everything is flying by.   Noah is growing physically and emotionally while I just sit and recall the little scrunched-up wrinkled face I met twenty-eight weeks ago.  Slow down little man... slow down!

Here are photos from this week.  Noah got to have a play date with a family friend of ours on Monday and then Tuesday we had a visit from my childhood neighbors.  Noah got to have his first Pacific Ocean dip and if you check out the pic, you might think that it will be the last for a while! hah!

Anyways, enjoy!
